Time to Cut Down Our Christmas Tree!

One of our holiday traditions is to go out and cut down our Christmas Tree. We have an artificial tree that Amy makes look pretty and elegant, but this "real" tree is the one we put our family ornaments on...and we all get some input on decorating.

Today we picked an nice sunny (but cold) afternoon to head out to the tree farm to get our tree. We walked quite a distance before finding the right one. The one we chose is a bit larger than we anticipated (it ALWAYS is) and the base is like a redwood. I know this because I had to cut it with a hand saw (4 times by the time it was all said and done!).

But we have our family tree up in the living, holiday music is playing, and my arms feel like Jello! Ahhh...Christmas!
